Q. I experience sudden hearing loss and vision loss when I have sudden menstrual cramps (Dysmenorrhea). This also happens when I experience abdominal pain related to diarrhea or constipation, which sometimes happens right before my period starts. Sometimes the GI system and the uterus are both affected at the same time. When I lose my hearing, all I hear is ringing, and everything turns bright, unless Im in a dark hallway. Indoors, I cant see. I think my pupils dilate and the blood flow to my ears constricts. What causes this? Asked by aivi - Sun Dec 23 03:44:39 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. There could be a number of possibilities going on such as endometriosis (just using endometriosis as an example only) but the only way to know for sure what is going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be going on. Answered by sokokl - Sun Dec 23 04:37:39 2007 What are the chances of reproducing a child with hearing loss? Q. My mom has hearing loss, and she got it from her father. But no one else in the family has it except her and him. She has 4 other sisters, and none of them have it. I was born with hearing loss, but my sister and brother don't have it. My brother is a complete ***hole, and he has anger issues. When we don't hear something, he calls us a deaf piece of ***. My mom has told him that when he has a kid he better pray that the child doesn't have hearing loss. But I was just wondering what are the chances of a child getting hearing loss. It could be a dominant trait that was passed to you but not your siblings, or a recessive trait that your siblings would have, too, but is not obvious in them. My sister has something that my grandmother has, but no one else does - not mt grandmother's siblings, my dad's siblings OR any of my other siblings or my cousins. DNA can be strange like that so it really is hard to tell who may or may not have certain genetic traits. Answered by Juliroo - Tue Feb 17 19:50:29 2009 How much energy loss would be if I used generator and motor to propel a bicycle instead of pedaling directly?
Q. I'm thinking of making a lightweight scooter that can be propelled by electric motor, but can be pedaled if the battery is gone. Instead of making the pedaling component main function, i want to pedal to store/generate electricity. Does this physically/electronically make sense, or would there be too much energy loss? What if I can find very efficient motor and generator? Asked by cdr - Mon Feb 18 21:54:47 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. About the best efficiency you can get with electric machines (motors/generators) is 90%, and this might be tough to find. Smaller motors are more likely to be about 80%. If you do get 90% on both, you can multiply 0.9*0.9=0.81 or about 80% total efficiency (ignoring friction loss etc. which you would have some of anyways). If your willing to pedal about 20% harder than a direct connection ... your good to go. I have a couple of pretty big (about the size of car starter) 50V DC motors. When I hook them together and turn the shaft of one with my hand, the other turns almost as fast. They are pretty efficient ... so I think you have a chance. Consider charging the battery with the motor as well. You could recover some of the power… [cont.] Answered by David M - Tue Feb 19 02:02:24 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "loss" |
