Which urban legends and/or ghost stories are based on fact?
Q. Using easy examples; Chain Saw Massacre--based on actual events. Hostel--based on actual events, Mothman Prophecies--based on actual events. Yes these all have the Hollywood touch but the original stories were based on fact. What are some urban legends/ghost stories have you heard?I know space is limited but I am a link follower anyway so paste away! Would love to see what you have found and have to share.

A. The movie and the book "The Entity" enhanced for entertainment value but with a base of truth. Any of the books by Jan Brunvand are excellent sources of information on Urban Legends. "Vanishing Hitchhiker" "Choking Doberman" "The Baby Train" etc. Also, try the link below for many urban legends. Michael John Weaver, M.S.
