What things can you catch from someone by kissing?
Q. i have an internet friend (penpal) that I really clicked with, and it has gradually been becoming more than friends (mutually) over the time. We've known one another for about a year. I went to an aquarium with her and spent time with her there, as well as met her brother and his significant other. That was just a casual friends meeting. I went to see her a while back in the city that she lives in and we went on some long hikes together. It was almost sort of date-like...just with no serious contact (nothing beyond hugs) because we've been focusing on getting to know one another more in person. Third meeting is coming up. She seems to consider this moreso a "second date" of sorts, and I feel that it's going extremely well. We trust one… [cont.]

How do I make a demo tape for an orchestral audition? With a limited budget what is the best equipment to buy?
Q. This for a major symphony orchestra pre-screening. Its instructions are: 1. Use the highest quality equipment available to you. (I don't have a lot of money for this, we are definitely looking for the most economical route without TOO much sacrifice in quality. 2. Use a stereo microphone or two mono mikes placed 12 inches apart. Dolby B noise reduction tapes are preferred. (We no longer own a cassette player/recorder nor do we have a CD burner). 3. some stuff about where to place the mikes and not to record in echoey places, et. 4. If you wish you may use the services of a professional recording studio but you should be aware, however, the committee is going to be listening to your technique, intonation, rhythm, style, tempi and how… [cont.]

A. If you absolutely must do it yourself, you can use a laptop or computer. Install Pro Tools ( ) along with an audio interface. Then get the 2 mics, preferably a matched pair or stereo mics. If you're on a budget you can get a pair of Behringer C-2s ( ) or Apex185s ( ) or if you have a more to spend, you can get the new Sontronics Apollo ( ). Be sure to make sure that your laptop or computer meets the minimum system requirements of Pro Tools and the audio interface. This would be my recommendation for a do-it-yourself setup.

Being from Sri Lanka and being very ethnically mixed - including Burgher I wonder what the Dutch are thinking?
Q. Apperntly this Dutch monk does not understand that our history and our traditions have always allowed for the use of elephants in religious rites, constuction, transportation and also warfare. We also had camels and some of the finest horse stocks in all of Asia. Why you would decide to politicise a religious expression that has not caused harm to the cubs or the mother and ask for a boycott of a religious festival that is truly multi-denominational is beyond our comprehension. The weaving of a million mythos will not change the reality that neither the cubs or the mother were harmed and they are in the trust of the Vihara - the idea of an elephant orphanage was not meant to keep elephants for the duration of their lives and if we can… [cont.]

I need a second opinion....?
Q. Ok so for the past few months (4 or 5) my lymph nodes have been swollen. It started with one behind my ear, then most of the lymph nodes in my neck then one behind my other ear. After that, the ones in my groin area and a few around my lower abdomen. Now I'm noticing two next to my collar bone are swollen. They are always bigger than normal but sometimes they get really big and are hard alot of the time. Also, I'm currently being treated for lyme disease and am on 5 different high dose antibiotics. No. I don't have mono or anything else that is fairly common. I have been tested...many times. I am aware of they symptoms of lymphoma and I have most of them but the symptoms are very similar to those of lyme disease. Should I push for more… [cont.]

A. Please push for a CT scan and/or biopsy. I had a "swollen lymphnode" as my dr. told me and left it untreated for 3 years until it reached the size of a ping pong ball. I went back in November and it turned out to be squamous cell carcinoma. I would definitely get it checked if I were you.

Changing Voice Deepness and Tone (getting rid of monotone)?
Q. Hello, I actually have two questions. As weird as it may sound, my voice is very unique. It sounds high-pitch (like a regular person taking helium) and at the same time mono-tone. This is really irritating, as I've had this problem with my voice for several years now. I was wondering if there were ways to deepen your voice. (such as excerises, I am aware of the King-Kong, Ding-Dong, and Bing-Bong method, but I quit a week after using it as seeing no results. I've also heard about Mike London and his neck muscle excerises, also tried that, and quit a week later after seeing no results) Are there any more excerisies? Should i continue doing those excerises (more often and longer)? Second Question, as people say my voice is mono-tone.… [cont.]

A. Any exercise your going to do your not going to see results in a week. Try doing it for a month, if no progress then, quit and try something else. Youtube a bunch of ways to change your voice, if that doesn't work try practicing with a friend, and taking deeper breaths. That should help in lowering your voice.

Whats a good camera for concerts under 350?
Q. Now before I begin everything I buy I try and spend alot in hopes of not having to upgrade or lack any of the modern features but after learning that the more zeros you add doesn't mean better product I am now looking for something that is just plain good. I am looking for a camera with good pic quality, Hd movie (because lets face it thats the standard nowadays), stereo mic or external mic capabilities, and wide angle but I can sacrifice that if I get the rest. I intend on using this for pictures obviously and also movies so HD and stereo mic is a must because I heard stereo is much better for loud music than mono. Thats what I heard if I am wrong PLEASE tell me :). I am tired of spending well over 500 bucks for cameras and them breaking… [cont.]

Nine months- no diagnosis;?
Q. I am aware Yahoo answers is not exactly the place I should be searching for answers to my medical condition, but I have literally tried everything else.. Back nine months ago I went to the hospital with pain in my lower abdomen. It was on the right side, which scared me.. I was sent home after multiple tests, with the diagnosis of my lymph nodes being swollen in my groin. I was given an antibiotic, which most definitely helped the infection, but my low grade fever never went away. In the last nine months I have had a sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, a lot of bowel problems and a persistent low grade fever. I have been testes for Mono, all STDS/hiv, lupus, lyme, strep throat, and everything comes back negative. I have been on multiple… [cont.]

A. Unfortunately all I can tell you is that it is some type of infection. Hopefully it is not systemic (in the blood stream). Fever occurs due to infection and swollen lymph nodes occur as well during infection. Your body is trying to fight it off. If it is a virus...antibiotics will not work.

A. You are not at risk. Kissing will not give you HIV, even if your tongue went down his throat you will not get HIV. The ONLY way you would get HIV from him is if you share needles for doing drugs, or have unprotected vaginal or anal sex, other than that you are not at risk. Relax.
